We had a wonderful time shooting the Blench wedding. Cassie and Matt were fun to work with and their fun chemistry was easy to capture.

The Pearl’s funky atmosphere provided a perfect back drop for the evening. Overall we had a wonderful time, thank you for letting us be a part of  your special day!

How was your experience with the Cean One family?
“Great experience. We had an idea of what we wanted that was outside of our price range.
The Cean One family delivered quality product and gave us a few options to help us understand how we could utilize our budget.” -Cassie
“Of all of our vendors, Cean One was the one we decided we just had to have.
After looking at the work that you had done for other couples, and seeing what the other studios had to offer,
there was just no more discussion. And you guys totally delivered.” – Matt

What did you like most about your experience?

Our couples photos are so beautiful. I’m not a cheezy/fairy tale/bride kinda girl, but I was really touched by those pictures of us.”

How did you like the Pearl as your venue?

“LOVED it. It was everything we wanted. I’m not the super crafty type, or country type, or princess type and all the venues we saw felt like something unauthentic to us.

This was SUPER San Diego. Retro, casual/comfy/funky but high class F&B, and the service standard there is above and beyond.”

Matt, at what moment did you decide you were going to propose to Cassie?

When she told me I was going to. Lol. I was actually really nervous about it because marriage, in my mind,

was something that I decided a long time ago was going to be forever for me when I did it.

And Cassie will tell you I love to think think think about things. Cassie taught me that sometimes in life you just have to have faith.

And when I realize that she was right (typical) that’s when I knew I wanted to propose.”

How did you two meet?
“Well… we were both coming down from a weekend of hard partying hard and were introduced by a mutual friend.
We went to the beach in a group – I don’t even know if I had brushed my teeth. No makeup, bikini, a BIG burrido… it was not sexy.
Looking back, I probably should have been concerned how in to that he was, lol.
He got my number and called me for months but I was busy getting my life together to take a big international trip.
A year went by as he stalked me online, and when he saw a mobile check in that I was near his area (basically on a date btw)
he convinced me to have breakfast with him the next day. The rest is history.
“The colorful” version of this story can be found on our wedding website www.theknot.com/us/blenneff    “

What was your first date?

“Swami’s in Encinitas… then the gardens across the street… then the beach below… I was not prepared for an outdoor day and got FRIED. “

Cassie, what was going through your head when you were walking down the isle?

“OMG I can’t believe this is real’. As cliche as it is, I was about to marry the man of my dreams. After all the bull$&#t you go through to find him,

its unreal that it’s actually going to happen for you – and its not until that moment that is sinks in.”

Matt, what were your thoughts when you saw Cassie walking towards you?

I won!

I just couldn’t believe how stunning and happy she looked and I was so thankful that it was her and me and we were about to do this thing together.”

Matt, how did you propose?

It was Valentine’s Day. I took her to Balboa Park – our favorite place in the city.

I had staked the park out a week earlier to find the best place at the right time of day with the right lighting and would have the best backdrop

and I decided on Main Street in front of the reflecting pool and when we got there, there was a street performer with a HUGE crowd. I played it cool cause

I had a secondary and alternate location ( proper planning prevents piss poor performance), so we cruised around a bit, enjoyed the scenery

and made our way to the bridge right in front of the botanical gardens. I asked a stranger to take our picture and pulled the ring from my pocket.

I picked the right guy too cause as soon as I got down on one knee, he threw it into video mode. It worked out beautifully. She couldn’t say no, we were in public.”

Cassie, what is your favorite part about Matt and why?

“Lighthearted. Matt balances me so well. He is so many things I wish I was (though this is probably the first/last time he’ll ever hear it).

I am an intense person in most capacities, which has its pros and cons. I can always count on Matt to not take me too seriously,

which can be hard to do. He has thick skin. And he can make me laugh ANYTIME. No matter what. He lightens the air.

Its the best thing someone like me could have in a lifelong companion.”

How was your experience with the Cean One family?

Our experience with the Cean One family was outstanding! Cean produced the most beautiful pictures and he was also a pleasure to work with!

I trusted him and his staff with everything and they did not let us down. Brittany was also so awesome to work with.

She was very friendly, flexible and she took some awesome photos with Cean on our wedding day!

What did you like most about your experience?

The customer service! The Cean One family is awesome to work with! I booked them almost 2 years prior to our event.

I rarely needed to reach out to them. They knew what I wanted and our pictures were Awesome!

They worked with our vendors (HMC Event Solutions & Ambiance Designs) several times before so, it made it so much easier!

What was your most memorable part of the wedding?

The most memorable part of the wedding was our wedding vows. We were supposed to send our wedding vows to our Minister, Chaplain Chris Dickens,

separately before our wedding day in the event we had trouble saying them the day of. Victor worked with Chaplain Chris on his vows however,

I did not send him my vows because I wanted it to be a surprise! Victor and Chaplain Chris did not think I had anything prepared and I did,

which surprised both of them! I finished my vows with one of my favorite poems by Maya Angelou “In and Out of Time”.

My surprise vows ALMOST made Victor cry! And it is tough to get Victor to cry!  It was a beautiful moment! Our Reception

was also very memorable! Our DJ and cousins, Chris & Drew Morgan from Your Time Entertainment came all the way from NYC to DJ our wedding!

They had the dance floor packed from beginning to end! We and all of our guests had a blast!

How did you two decide to get married?

We just decided we were going to get married. And we became officially “engaged” when we set a date.

There was definitely no surprise, no romance, and no proposal. We just knew we loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together!

How did you like the Mission Inn as your venue?

The Mission Inn was a beautiful! We knew we would have a large number of out of town guests attending our wedding.

With that being said, we wanted a venue that was close to our home but also luxurious!

The Mission Inn really gave us the over the top experience we were looking for. The atmosphere and ambiance of the hotel was perfect!

Victor, at what moment did you decide you were going to marry Mandisa?

When I realized how independent and how strong of a woman Mandisa was, I developed trust easy for her and I decided that I wanted to marry Her.

Victor, what were your thoughts when you saw Mandisa walking towards you?

My Thoughts when I saw Mandisa walking towards me were “ Look at my Bride! I have absolutely no regrets! I can’t believe this day is here already!”

Mandisa, what was going through your head when you were walking down the aisle?

As I was walking down the aisle all I could think about was all of the beautiful years we shared together and how much time and effort we put into

this beautiful moment. We were surrounded by our family and friends! Surrounded by so much love!  It was FINALLY happening!

Mandisa, what is your favorite part about Victor and why?

One of my favorite parts about Victor is he very honest. (Sometimes too honest lol ) He is trustworthy and dependable.

I can trust Victor with everything and I can depend on him for anything. I trust Victor with my Life!

Steven, at what moment did you realize Jenny was the one?

We had been together for about a year when I realized that she IS the person
I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Jenny, what were you feeling when you were walking down the isle?

As I was walking down the aisle, I was trying to focus on not walking too fast.
I just wanted to be up near my fiance and feel the security of his hands in mine.

Steven, what was the most memorable part of the wedding for you and why?
The most memorable part for me, was when Jenny and her Dad made their way down the aisle:
the handshake, the hug, and the exchange of hands.
I’d been waiting for that moment since I knew she was the one for me!

Jenny, what was the most memorable part of the wedding for you and why?

The most memorable part of the wedding for me was when I finally made it down the
aisle and got to hold Steve’s hands while Pastor Lowe spoke,
and then of course the kiss afterwards.

  • Charlie Walkrich - These are truly beautiful shots, especially the ones with the flowers. Very inspiring. Looking at these photos makes me want to have my own child. Great work!

We had a fabulous time with Ilana and Eric on their wedding day at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Ranchos Palos Verdes.
The view of the ocean from the cliffs paired with the strong winds from the sea made for some very dramatic shots! We even
spotted a whale pod in the distance that made the day even more magical. Our favorite part of the day was taking Ilana and
Eric out for their romantics because the wind played so well with their sweet and playful chemistry.

Ilana looked so stunning in a Turkish-made wedding dress and hair and makeup by the girls at Dollhouse. The ceremony
was beautifully officiated by Rabbi Michael SternfieldRestaurant Christine catered a knockout meal and the cake by
Torrance Bakery was both beautiful and delicious!

Eric & Ilana, we wish you the absolute best!
xoxoxo Cean and the team at Cean One Studios, Inc.

How did you two meet?

Meet Jeremy Pangilinan.

An inspirational photographer, climber and mutual friend of Eric and Ilana. Jeremy also turned out to be the matchmaker of this happily
ever after love story. One day in February 2011, Jeremy had made plans to meet Ilana and prior to these arrangements had been climbing
with Eric at our local climbing gym.  Last minute, Jeremy asked for Ilana to meet him at our local java fix, The Coffee Bean,
but Jeremy was not alone.

Ilana met up with Jeremy and Eric. The trio talked about nonsensicle things and amongst these things Jeremy segwayed the conversation
into one about Eric’s upcoming plans to volunteer to save baby sea turtles in Mexico. A volunteer opportunity that just so happened to lie
within a world class surf epicenter, Todos Santos. Eric needed a last minute volunteering partner in crime with surfing experience and within
two weeks time their passports were stamped and they were saving baby sea turtles which was code word for surfing three times a day.

DISCLAIMER: No baby sea turtles were injured in this matchmaking hoopla.

Tell us about your proposal

In Ilana’s words:
0600 on September 11, 2013

After engulfing an American sized large pizza, split between the two of us, we set off for “The [Death] Slabs” approach to the base of Half Dome.
A dehydrating jaunt up the overhyped slabs left us at the base of our nemesis, the NW Face of Half Dome. We arrived just in time to refill our
water at a generous spring and cram the two of us into a one person bivy sack thanks to an unforcasted downpour accompanied by a thunder
and lightning show. The same weather system that gave me an excuse to cuddle (some may call it suffocate) Eric, left a gaggle of climbers on
the face for unplanned bivuoacs on the wall…

…Once the weather calmed we endured multiple episodes of running for cover as the climbers above dropped everything imaginable out of their
packs. As morning approached, while we hesitantly packed up camp, a loud noise indicating something flying at us from the wall above, sent us
flying to the side of the base to avoid being struck. Whatever fell from above, conveniently at first light, was likely dressed in a wingsuit because
we never heard it/he/she meet the ground. The night of endless gear/rock/human hurling left us with a surge of adrenaline and robbed us of the
desire to join the loads of climbers on the face, this time. Eric and I agreed to return at a later date to climb the Regular NW Face of Half Dome
and he set up the camera on a tripod for a self-timer shot, or at least that’s what I thought. Then he got on one knee and proposed! I said YES
and went in for a big kiss. I was so overjoyed and the rest is history.

Why did you choose Palos Verdes as your wedding location and the Point Vicente Interpretive Center as your venue?

The ocean and outdoors, in general, are a common interest that we are both passionate about. Eric grew up in Palos Verdes,
and Ilana in Laguna Niguel, both beachside locales. So it only was fitting to pick a venue that was representative of their interests
and upbringing – a la the beach. Point Vicente Interpretive Center lies on the bluffs above the ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Fun Fact: The venue is utilized to conduct a census of whales passing through the Catalina channel for six months out of the year and a public
park space for the remaining part of the year.

What do you love most about each other?

Eric loves how outgoing and adventurous Ilana is…

…and Ilana loves Eric’s dedication and athleticism.

Eric and Ilana’s wedding was made possible by the following vendors:

Venue: Point Vicente Interpretive Center
Officiant: Rabbi Michael Sternfield
Makeup: Dollhouse Hair & Makeup
Catering: Restaurant Christine
Cake: Torrance Bakery
