Destination weddings always make us swoon as much as the couples that are destined to spend their lives together. Kate and Louie’s New Years Eve Raleigh, North Carolina wedding was every bit as magical as New Year’s Eve is meant to be.
Their journey down the aisle started the year before on New Years when Louie popped the question by the ocean in the same spot they met. “Having our wedding exactly a year from the proposal gave us enough time to plan and ended up being a perfect opportunity to bring all of our out-of-town friends and family together over the holidays!” said Kate.
The couple said their vows below a full moon and among 100 candles. Louie remembers the way the light shone down on her, making Kate’s dress sparkle. Even Kate’s grandmother, although in poor health, could be seen watching the ceremony from a window above.
Her dress was Alfred Angelo Beverly Hills with Badgley Mischka shoes to match. His tux was Wilkie Rodregez. Although Louie’s Guatemalan grandmother was unable to make the trip, he kept her close with cuff links she had made special for their day.
For a sweet finish to the evening, the couple went non-traditional with a dessert buffet of their favorite sweets. He chose Carmel dipped apples and churros and chocolate (with chocolate brought from Spain by Kate’s sister from the couple’s favorite cafe!) And she chose Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts and maple rolls from Ohio as a nod to the summers she spent there as a child.
Kate and Louie’s romantic New Years Eve wedding was as special as we are sure their marriage will be. We, at Cean One, wish you many more New Year’s Eves of love, magic and joy and thank you for letting us be apart of your wedding day!
